Description of Direct Access to Client Data

• PPLSolutions’ clients will have the ability to connect directly to a PPLSolutions’ Oracle database that contains their specific data.
• The data in the database will be a copy of the source data.
• Any data that is not currently in the portal database will be included at the clients’ request.
• Access to PPL’s database server is via a Business-to-Business VPN Tunnel.
• PPLSolutions will provide clients with one or more Oracle accounts to be used to connect to the database.
• All data additions and changes will be made through systems, applications and processes that will ensure compliance to SOX and SAS 70 standards.
• To ensure SOX and SAS 70 compliance, all direct data access will be read-only — no inserting, updating or deleting.
• Clients will be able to develop and run ad-hoc queries against the database.
• Clients can choose to use any software that can connect to an Oracle database.
